buying a new tig

Hello

First question and one which has been asked a lot

Budget is up to 2k though I'm reading a lot of stuff and its mind boggling

I am confused because it looked like the millers were good (Dynasty200) but the duty cycles and amps dont seem to compare to euro pean machines

Theres a place in sheffield selling Oerlikons cheaply as ex demo but then the guy starts with the sales pitch that they are Kemppi made etc etc

I am actually looking to order it Monday if i can decide on machine

What spec are you after, Single phase or 3 phase etc?

Do you want a small portable machine or a workshop based machine????

its for the workshop ,I don't do site work or won't at any rate but I'm not one to skimp for the sake of it.
most of the tigs seem to be portable in size and weight ,best example I can give really

If your workshop based then I'd consider one of these, within your budget and enough left over to upgrade your power supply (if required). I admit it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the inverter machines, but it is transformer based and with a excellent warranty, and British Built.

Also look here both makes of machines are built in the same factory, its just the badge on the box outside.

Plus Weldequip is based near Leeds and the machines are built in Yorkshire....

There could be another option if your willing to buy a s/hand tig unit, a member has this for sale at a fair price and it not to far from you.
