I have a butters (NBC) Auto tig 160 ac/dc
All of a sudden this week the machine has been playing up for no reason. It hasnt been moved - nice dry environment etcetc. It appears that something is causing the trigger relay to stay on as soon as the machine comes on. This therefore means the gas is constantly flowing.
As soon as the machine is turned on, the supply to the gas solenoid becomes 24v and stays on. Ive had a good look over the board for dry joints and at the connections in the pedal and sockets on the machine for loose connections/shorting.
Even without the pedal or torch fitted the same problem occurs. I have checked the solenoid and it doesent seem to be jammed or faulty - there is a constant 24v supplied to it. Very confused!!
Hope someone can help!
