Butane torch to bend steel round bar

Would something like this be suitable to heat up 10mm round bar to be able to bend it in a vice?

It wouldn't be ideal, mapp gas would be better.

Mapp gas is better but if its just a one off job butane torch is by far the cheaper option

depending on how you want to bend it, but normally I would bend 10mm cold, even though I have an oxy/acetylene set.

We just bend it cold at work. 10mm is pretty easy.

I bend it cold up to 90 degree bends, if I need anymore than that I heat it up with a mapp plumbers torch, or propane

yeah its too cold in this weather for butane, thats why I have a propane cylinder for when I go camping because it too forever to make a decent cuppa at 5am when it was a bit nippy when using butane.

To get simple angled bends just slip piece of box section over each end of the bar to lengthen it and do it manually.

I regularly bend 12mm and 16mm round bar cold. I never put the oxy-acetylene on it

Deoemding on what your doing you shouldn't really need heat
