A company was setting up a helicopter servicing workshop at a local airfield. At the time I was unemployed and the job centre were handling the recruitment. They told me I was quids in for an apprenticeship, I was the best qualified they had.

I was really looking forward to it but alas it never happened. The company couldn't secure enough government grants to start up and the project failed.

Annual is yearly with other things timed life and closer inspections.

Where did the plastic tube of the oil bottle go ?? into the scavenge pump.
Some picks are Schweizer 300 others MD500
Blades held on by 2 expanding pins about the size of a pencil

Crikey! Looks like the sort of thing you would not like to find in a machine securely bolted to the floor, never mind something that life might depend on!

Never heard of one breaking.
Blades destroyed yes but pins no.
Our old AP worked on them for 40 years said he had not seena broken one

Are you mostly working on N reg aircraft?

Mainly all according to the APs licenses, our old AP died, nice bloke with the experience but we have a new one, also with years of knowledge on Bell MD and Schweizer.
I just do as told he checks anything I touch
I do wonder sometimes seeing some machines

These are not new photos N500RK is in CZ now the red is based in CZ. and blue is back in US.me picks of different helies and parts. , the little black right angle box is tail rotor gear box.
The blue and red are 500 Notars they have no tail rotor and basically rely on a big fan just behind the main cab blowing air down the tail which has a slot in side and a rotating dustbin on the end of tail to vector air.
The cab is fairly representative of MD50s
In pic4 the 3 triangular tube mountings are the engine mountings 3 x 5/16 bolts
Pic 5 is belt driven cooling fan
Pic 7 shows starter generator and the reduction gear box with engine removed, usually they both come out as a unit
