When I asked a big name trailer company about building a trailer nothing was mentioned about need type approval. I also emailed another chap who sells trailer parts and the reply was I need to give the trailer a serial number/chassis number. Stamp the max weight etc
From the chap - nothing mentioned about TA.
My trailer has 500kg suspension units but 750kg axle and hitch is rated at 500kg

All these EU regulations and rules are stifling small businesses and no wonder our economy is in the state it is in. we need out of the EU and to repeal all this unnecessary red tape if our country is ever to get back on it's feet again!

But the towbar has to be made by an approved manufacturer and as no-one makes a Ka towbar you are still up the creek without a paddle. You can get a rear door mounted bike rack to hang your bike on.

i had one on my old Ka
