Business email address

I'm helping my old man with setting up and eBay account, this will be a business account to keep it separate from his private account.

So, I'm looking to set up an email account in his company name to go along with it. Obviously I could just start a normal Gmail/hotmail/yahoo account but can I make one like sales@company.com for free? Or are they all paid services?

You lease a domain of your choice (if available). You can then point that anywhere you wish. A co.uk is not expensive, often £1 or so the first year. Validity is two years and you retain it as long as you pay the renewals. I use 1and1 (Ionos) for my domains because their control panel makes it very simple to do as required.

you also want a seperate cc as well as if you have any issues with that account then ebay locks your card and then you cant use it again on ebay so after this you would have to use a mrs card to buy anything on ebay

As above, use separate everything: email, bank details and phone number (for the two factor authentication).

He should be careful if he switches from one account to the other in the same computer session. If I buy something on my personal account and pay with PayPal, then switch to my business account and buy something and pay with PayPal, it tries to use my personal PayPal to pay.

I now make sure I clear all browsing data before logging in to the second eBay account.

That's how I do it but with the addition of using two browsers on the same computer. Firefox and Chromium for those interested.

I just use different browsers.
Edge for personal, Firefox for business.
Makes things far simpler, and avoids the risks of inadvertently using the wrong account.

You lot must be doing some dodgy stuff on the computers?

I only ever use one CC for anything on line, never any hassle
