bumper reflector delete

I'm thinking about getting rid of the orange reflectors on my bumper, any suggestions on what to fill in the gap with? Fibreglass padding?

This one is not mine sadly.

Plastic weld a piece in properly. Anything else will just fall off a plastic bumper.

fibre glass would crack

id either plastic weld in an off cut of spare bumper or glue in a patch with 2 part bumper glue , check on the back of the bumper it will have a code like PP ,then check the adhesive is suitable for that type of plastic

Thanks guys, in the US they are side repeaters, in the UK they are just reflectors, the wiring is tied off inside the bumper.

I'm sure they are side indicators as you say. You can replace them with white ones but removing them is not advisable as they are part of the MOT.
edit:- Sorry if that's wrong but my mate had one and they were white indicators on his

The clear reflectors look a lot better but cost around £80 for the set.

I used to repair and modify bumpers with plastic welding and fill with Top Stop Gold, a very flexible fine grained filler

There is still a bumper I fitted a number plate recess in (after we welded up the one on the tailgate) going strong after more than 15 years, and it never cracked

cant you put a bulb holder in the chamber and have them for repeaters

Does it have repeaters somewhere else ? Any car after April 86 is supposed to have them fitted unless the front indicators are visible from the side.

Yes, there is an indicator on the wing behind the front wheel.

Looks like plastic welding is a bit of a pain and will take some investment so will likely go the clear lens route.
