Bullnose Morris dynamotor

I’ve been asked to remove the Starter motor from a Bullnose Morris so the owner can get it repaired. I’ve had a look and it turns out it’s also a dynamo as well as a starter. I haven’t managed to remove what appears to be an access cover as it appears to be stuck on with loads of silicone which I’m having to cut through with a Stanley knife but ran out of time. My question is has anyone any experience with removing said dynamotor , I’m not sure how it is connected to the engine when engaged. This car is now a century old and is going to a Bullnose owners gathering to celebrate if I can get it sorted

I had found both of those links , my problem is how to actually remove the unit from the gearbox and how it is connected , gears, chain etc . Thanks for trying anyhow. It’s probably very simple when I manage to cut through all of the gasket goo someone has used on the end cover. Live in hope

You might want to try contacting the local chapter of the Morris Register. I suspect the owner of the Bullnose is already a member.

Finally got back onto this last week. After cutting through whatever was holding the access cover onto the gearbox using a combination of Stanley knife and a sharpened hacksaw blade I managed to get it off to find the dynamotor drives then is driven when running by a chain turning the gearbox first motion shaft . After undoing the sprocket retaining nut on the dynamotor and the three retaining nuts it was easy to remove the dynamotor. It was taken to Cambridge Rewinds for repair ( very quick turn around) and refitted yesterday . Tested charging today, customer very happy
