Bullet connectors on car central locking

Wasn't sure where to put this question so thought I'd stick it in here. It might seem a stupid question but I've googled it and not found an answer. It will be an easy question for you guys, I'm sure.

I'm trying to sort out the central locking on my 1992 Saab c900. The knackered bullet connectors that connect the door actuator to the main wiring are a weird size. Tried a few connectors but they are either too big or too small.

Can I just cut the wires and solder in bigger male and female connectors? Also the amp ratings are different on the connectors you buy? What amp should auto electric bullet connectors be? Thanks, guys.

For this application, I'll be honest, I'd probably just use whatever I had to hand.

Edit: Cutting out the old and soldering in new is absolutely fine

either that or just solder the wires without connecters and use shrink wrap on them

I'll be surprised if the wiring on a 30yr old car allows for easy soldering - it'll be corroded and require some careful cleaning.

For life of me i can't remember what they look like, but there is length of wire from memory, yes?
Cut off old connectors and crimp on pair of new ones, bullets , spades, whatever tickles your fancy.

Thanks guys. Yes, there's a couple of wires. I want to use connectors rather than just soldering the wires together because the central locking actuator will need to come out when we get the door painted. Sounds like the size and amp rating doesn't matter so I'll just use the 'wrong' size ones.
