Brushing 2K paint, how bad a finish?

I am rebuilding a caravan and as a result of all the work, I will have to repaint it. I do have all the kit, inc air fed at my workshop, but the caravan is in the drive at home. I can't move it as it will fall to bits and I don't want to mend it, rebuild it, take it in then strip it again to paint.

This has meant that spraying is a no no, although I might get away with cellulose if I pick the day carefully!

If I brush paint the 2K I understand the finish will be poor, but I wonder how poor? Is it going to be possible to flat back the finished job and compound it to bring the finish back or will it always look like a brushed job?

Why use 2k, my very limited experience tells me its a no-no. Have you considered coach paint. My father, many years ago, painted a car with a good quality coach paint, came out very good. Worth a thought.

some guys on volkszone have had amazing results on camper vans roller painting with rustoleum paint.

they put on several coats and flat it back before two final coats.

ive tried the odd brush job with 2k , its not really suitable imo, but yes you can flat and polish it , id imagine youd go through before you take out the brush marks tho

id look into rustolem on a roller , theres lots on google for this or brush on coach enamel
