strewth, how do you manage to do that?
I've been using mine for some months now, although not every day, and I've not even chipped the ceramic yet.
That's a nice kit though. When I bought mine it was ten of each item and it came in a padded envelope with loads of bubble wrap. I guess that's the bigger pack?
Are you making spades?

The "spades" are for some brackets to link a Ford 9" rear axle under my jeep.
The consumables are actually 3 kits short/long tips, for 2 different torches.
Started over on the "spades" yesterday with some 6mm plate with an other torch with the long tip.
These came out a lot better, without breaking anything.

Hi, just my 2cents worth, but I've been using a cut 40 to make similar cuts through a 5mm thick bumper, you're first cuts were just like mine, (too slow/wobble then a bit fast not cut clean through) It helps not to have to start by blowing a hole!!! the molten metal sticks to the ceramic cup, which then causes it to stick to the job and Overheat!
that's what breaks em!. don't worry youre getting the hang of it, the last couple are looking good and less work to finish, right?
BTW, they look like you expect some serious off road action, should keep it in place!

Your explanation sounds very reasonable, handling the torch is starting to go smoother.
When maxing out the suspension, there's quiet some stress on the links. So that's why thickness and bracing of the "spades"

Way to go dude! RESPECT. Looks like you have a lot of fun with that. I've a lot to do before getting any where near that kind of twist!!!
Ten years age I nearly brought a cj5 from a guy round your way, 35" tyres loads of lift, V8 power, and loads of fun, but too expensive at the time........ho hum.

Yeah it is fun to build/customize your own stuff, then try it out and go back to improve.
Yes it is an arb bull-bar which I customized.
-Made the sides by the wheelwell shorter.
-Made the cut-outs to fit the 4" by 10" head/fog lights.

Oh wow Ogdak! thats some project you have there! I've just read you build posts..
I'll be a long time winching to get where you get....., My Disco project looks kinda soft next to your zj. I'm planning a mod to my winch bumper to mount fog lamps inside it like yours. I found it's very useful to grind off the powder coating before trying to plasma cut the holes And drill a pilot hole to start from, save's f**king up a tip/cup!
Anyway, I'll post a pic when I get to it.
