Broken van vault key

Hi,
Has anyone got any tips ,for broken key removal. The key has snapped off. Luckily it was unlocked and was able to remove the complete lock.
Have tried the super glue method. Can't get a thin pliers in there. And my small screwdrivers are a bit too thick to lever it.

I have used a local key cutting place, who picked it out with a tool, made me a new key.

It looks like it snapped a good way down the hole which makes it difficult.
Use a couple of pins as picks on opposite sides of the key to wriggle it out ?
Put the keyhole facing down, gently tap it on a solid object (anvil/vice) and see if the key moves out enough for you to get hold if it?

My van vault has a similar lock, I bought a new lock & key from the high street, it seems to be a standard size (or try mail order - might not cost much more than a visit to a locksmith )

If it's possible to get a thin piece of shim between key and lock, push the shim in so it overlaps the key by a few mm, and try letting a small drop of superlue run between the shim and the key, leave for an hour, and try and pull.

Will try ,Nomad 's trick with some shim stock.
I did try slamming it face down on a steel bench, but it didn't seem to move.
If I have no luck, my thought was go into local locksmith. Although it might be worth having a look at new lock price.

It is worth a try. I will have to grind something down, after work, to fit the hole.

Less than £6 for a new lock from screwfix. Somewhat defeatist but certainly not worth the bother of a locksmith if you can't get it out.

Have you tried banging it down on something hard, a vise is ideal - not over the keyhole obviously!! It works more often than not.

The dimples on the key can hold the remains quiet well.

I use the "Give it a thump" on Dry and wet riser locks.
90% it works.

All the of these I have picked the hole on the back is straight through to the keyway. Just push the key out with a wire ?

I have gotten the broken bit out. Used a small panel pin, through the hole from the back. It tapped right out and lock is working fine, with spare key.

Sometimes it's just easier to cut off what needs cutting to remove lock with a 1mm disc, then weld the bits back on.

I have a number of these "discus" style locks, with simple keys. I did not know that they were also available with these Kaba-style cylinders.

That is there to extract the key.

I've had success with a sewing needle, bent the point over to about 60 degrees for a few mm and it was just possible to wiggle it past the key and hook it from the far end.
