Broke My Fobco Star’s Motor

Imagine if you will that someone would be foolish enough to put a polishing wheel in the chuck of a drill press subsequently stalling it in such a way that it no longer turns on.

I’ve check continuity through the switch and that seems fine and I’ve bypassed the switch and wired the motor directly to a plug but had no luck. I’m guessing I’ve done the motor but had no tell take smoke or stick coming out if it.

Any ideas?

It sounds to me like it needs a new start/run capacitor but I cannot see where one is or could go

Edit: I would have expected a largish wart on the side to contain one

its the fuse in the plug?

do you have one of those plugs to monitor consumption so you can see if it takes any current at all?

Well it’s not quite as good as a blown fuse but I can confirm that I’m a muppet.

It turns out the motor as a built in trip reset button thing that I hadn’t noticed until I took it off the drill.
