Snap on dealers are self employed on a franchise. They buy and resell the snap on gear on there vans at premium prices. They will only take a warranty on that they know for sure they can return themselves. If they give you a new spanner and can't get it changed themselves from snap on then they are out of pocket. A big spanner is a lot of brass so they are tight with there warranty claims. Bit crap really when your buying the worlds most expensive tools and the warranty is a mega hassle.brother used you have snapon stuff and yes if broken they would replace but if the tool man can get out of it they would eg if the bar is bent would say you missused it if snaped they could say the same but all the same alway worth a try
Britool now is owned by whoever owns facom...so quality hopefully is back on the upward....

I have a lot of snap on stuff and the warranty seems to come down to the particular dealer, some are great but some can make it a hassle.
A stockist is bound by the terms and conditions of the supplier, if the supplier offers a lifetime guarantee then that's one of the terms? If not then "disappointing" is a massive understatement.........Local stockist will only exchange stuff they originally supplied...........
Disappointing really
