Britool spanner age question

Does anyone , have any idea, of the years, that Britool, used this raised lettering on their spanners?
The reason, I would like to know, is it is a spanner, that used to belong to my Dad. He died, in 1979, when I was seven. I took it out of a box of old tools, to try citric acid derusting and only found his initials, after it was cleaned up. It was a fantastic surprise to find them. It will be oiled up and kept with a few of his other tools, I have.

Hi, When I started work in 1970 I bought a few Britool spanners and they were like the top one in the pics, if that's any help.

Winchman or his son might know more.

I'm sure there's a collectors forum for Britool tool.......
have a few myself but not quite that old..and still use em......AF sizes mostley.....used on American mowers....
buy em when I c em, for nostalgia......

Good fun for wall displays, got a stack of Bedford ones cheap a while back.

I’ve got some AF Britool spanner’s like the top one I bought for my first job in 1965, they were the dogs wotsits then. I’ve only got the odd sizes left know, the popular ones have been lost along the way.

I owned a Britool Fanchise in the late 80,s but winchboy is my vintage expert, I will ask him tonight, the Garage journal link is the best place to ask, a very nice chap in New Zeland / Austrailia often posts the catalogues which should easily date it, if you cant find it let me know as its bookmarked at home

Just stumbled on this thread.
I have Britool spanners in Open ended, Ring and Combination in both A/F, Metric and BSW
I also have 1/2" Square drive socket set that again covers A/F Metric, BSW and Bi Square
All my torque wrenches are Britool.
I did have an old hex drive socket set but got rid of that when I got the big 1/2 drive set

Here is my 1/2" Drive Socket Set and Torque Wrenches
I wonder how much the socket Set would cost today if it was available.
I remember buying it from Brown Brothers in Old Street, London back in the early 70's

I have a full set of old brittool half inch drive sockets. af metric and whitworth. there ok but I mainly use 3/8 drive sockets on motor vehicles because half inch are a bit numb and cumbersome . the 3/8 th are Bergen and snapon .I never bought the snapon cos they are overpriced. I got them given
