Britool 5/16 drive sockets ???

I got a britool adapter in a box of bits today. Can't read the part number, looks like dr312, but it's been stamped twice and seems to have 2 X stamped too.

It's a female to male adapter, 1/4 on the male, but the female end is 5/16!

It came in a box of 1/4" and 9/32 stuff. It's bigger than 9/32 (obviously, as it measures 5/16) and goes without saying it's smaller than 3/8.

What is it?

It's second from the left in the group pic, that shows 3/8, this, 9/32 and 1/4.

If it's a socket drive type it's new to me, I would have guessed it's a socket to remove drain plugs or similar but the detent would suggest otherwise.

5/16" in decimal is 0.3125", which could explain the 312 number.

Some of the old socket sets came with what looked like a square allen key to turn them so maybe it would be used with one of them.

This could well be the answer. Especially with the number as that's how britool did things.

Tried another part number and it's drx312. But double stamped.
Makes sense now, it's from a refrigeration set.
1/4 male drive end for 5/16 square fixing.

Britiool did a 5/32 drive but have a look for a refrigeration set as they contain some odd items
