Best electric kettle we ever found is the Breville "HotCup" kettle. Put your cup or mug under it and it delivers a measured cup of boiling water in about 45 seconds. Perfect !

That's what we've been using for the past few years, stops Mrs Robo filling a kettle to max every time, just for one or two cups.
