British boots

I'm looking for a new Pair of boots and I'd like to buy British made ideally. I've been looking at the ruff lander and A.L. White boot from William Lennon. Has anyone tried their British made boots and if so how do you rate them?

DMs are made in China, well the last pair I bought were ....

i bought a pair of steel toe DM boots a few years ago and even though they are now Chinese the quality still feels the same. Much better than the tuffsafe crap i get given in work. My DM boots have lasted about 4 years and although they look a bit rough they are still watertight and all in one piece. The tuffsafe boots last about 8 months at best and the soles start splitting, the lace eyes are worn out and the heel comes away from the sole. On my 5th pair in 3 years

Update ,I was looking on a website that sold DMs and it seems that most DMs are made in china but some are still made in the UK ,so you have to select ... wish I could get any workboots to last more than a year ....jeff....

DM have a factory outlet shop in wollaston northants boots can be had for 30-£35.Choice is limited tho.
Looks like thats where I am going as work give me 35 a year for boots and my old one now stink.

I'm sure that's the place that used to have a factory shop in Richmond from where you could buy motorcycle boots for silly cheap prices a couple of decades ago. They also used to do leather jackets - the sheepskin flying type as well as bike ones. I kept meaning to treat myself but never did get round to it... probably another divorce got in the way or something

The last British-made boots I got were a xmas pressie from a g/f waaaay back in the early 90s; they're buckle-up motorbike boots in the old style, made by Tuf. I still have them, still in great condition (OK I haven't worn them in 15 years but they're kicking around somewhere...)... where's me camera

I just got myself a pair of the new Dewalt Titanium boots to replace my old pair of Dewalts that have lasted about 7 years.

Very comfy and pretty robust but I should hope so for about £70.

ive never spent more than 25 quid in my whole life on boots . just bought a new pair of dickies for 20 quid. i polish them every day to keep the leather soft so they last longer and the soles wear out 1st

Buy boots from here and the soles will out last the uppers http://www.clogs.co.uk/ they take a bit of getting used to but they're great especially in winter.

yer well i got a pair of dickies to 4 months ago,and there is was stiched to the tongue MADE IN CHINA,the sole seams have gone,the the eyelets on one boot have worn away,the insole on both have come out,oh and get this theres a cracking come cricking noise come from both as you walk,waste of £40,and yes i did look after them,being ex army your boots are your life.

Summary on dickies......................never again

I've had a couple of pairs of dickies and not been overly impressed. My last pair were branded makita but made by dickies and the insoles have squashed down so much it's like standing on concrete.

I'm trying a pair of dewalt ones now which seem quite good, but time will tell.

verry good but no a chemical company supplies them for me along with waterproof jackets to keep me warm and even tools but they dont know about it
