Right, I'm a bit miffed.
I must have spent a good couple of hours over the past few weeks trying to square up the head on my bridgeport.
I'm using a pair of parallels and have a DTI at around 200 mm diameter swing.
I slacken off the head nuts a smidge and check the DTI reading side to side until it's the same then do the nuts back up. I then recheck the DTI readings in case tightening the head has shifted things.
Then I do the same with the nod.
I then double check the side to side readings and they've shifted off by 0.02 - 0.04 mm.
Even if I go through the whole rigmarole again I'm still left with the same error.
I'm not touching the table at all and spinning the DTI round with the drawbar with the gearbox in neutral.
What am I doing wrong?!
