Breakdown / Recovery Services for low mileage vehicles?

My cars are 23 and 28 years old (Celica and Rover 620). Both of them are only doing low mileage. The renewal notice is asking for ~£30 and £61 respectively.

Can anyone recommend a company offering breakdown and recovery for low mileage cars?

The Celica passed it's MoT last week; no work done in advance and no advisories . In ~50 years, I've only called for help on one occasion, but I know that means nothing much.

The majority of classic car policies already include full European breakdown and recovery.

I think my discounted RAC deal is cheaper than that - no age limit and covers me in any of my cars - 34 yr old Lancia, 24 yr old Caterham, 18 yr old Alfa and ten year old Dodge.

Admittedly, the only time in recent memory I've needed them, when a bolt sheared in the Caterham rear suspension, disconnecting the coil over from the de-dion tube, I could have walked home, rearranged the cars, got the trailer wheels and ramps out of the shed, put them on, towed the trailed to the Caterham, loaded it, and got home and put tea on by the time there chosen local agent arrived.

I too take great annoyance if any of mine when presented for MOT get even a hint of a mention of anything needing doing - a brake light bulb failed between me checking immediately before setting off to the test and the test - my MOT tester, knowing the aforementioned, was cock-a-hoop to finally find something

my wife does all the driving.....
when she takes our tiny shopping car for a ticket......
she sits in the car park with one of those wizz bang things to turn the eng light off for five mins,,,
turns off the light, by the time she's home it's on again....
took it to the dealer and a so called specialist and they cant find the prob......
so we just do it our way.....not spending anymore money on it....

We have a Nationwide current account with the minimum balance just for the 'freebies':

Breakdown
Travel Insurance
Telephone Insurance

There are some others that I can't recall.

The cost of running the account is about the same as annual worldwide (including USA) travel insurance.

The issue with such bundles is that they often have exclusion clauses denying cover for proper cars. Same with AA and RAC, you have to check the small print.

As I said earlier, the best classic breakdown cover is normally included with good classic car insurance.

The only 'gotcha' I can find in the T&Cs is that it must have current: VED, Insurance and MoT.
I haven't checked if an MoT-exempt vehicle requires an MoT to be covered. It's on the job list.

I found out 24 hours before I went to Le Mans that my cover didn't cover vehicles over 10 years old!
Last minute quotes were stupid money so I just risked it.
No problem but it is a Toyota Surf

I've just got a quote from Classicline (very popular in previous threads of this forum) and that includes breakdown cover with a firm called ALPS.
