Hi all
Just a noob question for brazing.
I have a bmw Restoration project on the go at the moment and some of the joins on the panels are brazed, Im thinking is this actually welded together or is the braze a kind of filler for some small gaps/seams
When i get around to doing these parts and replacing panels here and there i would like to re braze the parts where required as per original.
I just wanted to find out from someone here who knows brazing what sort of equipment would i need to start and what type of rods and sizes etc for sheet metal car panels etc, Im quite familiar with stick and mig welding and have a new mig welder (portamig 185) But i have never tried my hand at brazing.
Also anything else i need to know i will then practice in a vice with some sheet metal scrap.
and finally cleaning up after the brazing is done what do you use ie grinder dremel etc??
Thankyou
Leigh
