Brazing Rods?

Guys, I need to buy some brazing rods, but I'm not sure which type I need. I'm hoping to use them on mild steel, and possibly on copper too. Can I do this with one type of rod or will I need different rods?

Also I guess I'd better get some flux too - any suggestions as to what type? Can you still get the flux imregnated rods?

Not done this for years, so very rusty on what's what!

As said, depending on what you are doing re flux impregnated or not.
I scrounged a tube of prefluxed rods years back and I save them for special jobs.
if my job involves lots of small joints I use unfluxed rods and dip them in flux, this can be better as you get to use as much flux as you need, which makes cleaning up easier. A plus point it saves cash. You can also use less flux and build the material over holes and gaps in the workpiece (non safety critical off course).

I use prefluxed rods and work sat down after taking a few minutes to visualise and practice the movements. Ideally you dont stop or pause and can get a great result. Very meditative, if it goes wrong it can be upsetting. This is not too bad.
I would say most of the time dipping the rods is fine.

I'll have a look around and see what I can find. I think the only place locally that might do them is BOC, so I hope they have some in stock.
