Brass mallet casting.

Good Afternoon illuminatii, I have just acquired a brass cast mallet casing and handle , I have removed the oak insert, it has been stamped A Barton 5 times very neatly , I suspect the name was a craftsmans tool stamp I have only ever seen one of these before, are they rare?
The casting has been enthusiastically abused, would it be possible to reshape with heat and persuasion, if I can square it up a bit I can make a new insert and handle , any guidance welcome ,

I think a nice hard 2 pack resin would look good.

On that’s nice. Googled it to see exactly what it should look like. Me personally, I try and straighten it and fix it up

I saw one at an auction a few years back , the only other is in HO STUDLEYS toolbox which is in the Smithsonian ,
Will google it a bit more ,

There was a copper frame with sawdust and pitch on HMS Victory, in the powder room.

Didn’t realise or see on Google that it was rare. Perhaps I wouldn’t try and straighten it out!
