brand new petrol tank , any ideas for external protection?

just lashed out on a brand new metal petrol tank

any ideas to make it last ? the filler neck is exposed to stones/mud as its right near the tyre , i dont want to use anything non hardening so i can keep a keen eye on it

any thoughts on that ? spose peeling it off in 6 months will be agro lol

or maybe a sand up and epoxy mastic then a couple of coats of enamel

Gaffer tape 5 layers should do it. What model car is it on, is it possible to fit some kind of cover to stop thrown up road rash ?

on a tape theme but more seriously, Denso tape is good protection, horrible to apply though.

another tape thats brilliant is self amalgamating tape
