I have a Ryobi One+ hammer drill that has been used a lot in the last 4 years, including dropping it from a garage roof and various other abuses!
Recently the brake has stopped working, but also occasionally it starts turning by itself when it is put down.
Are drill brakes electronic? I am wondering if it is the potentiometer in the switch (its variable speed) that has gone wrong meaning it doesn't realise I am completely off the trigger.
I am in two minds whether to try opening it or not, these tools aren't designed to be opened/repaired!
