Braked Trailer hitch ? Anti reverse not working?

I still have this trailer i got a few months back and as it is earning a few bob now and then and i dont need to sell it i am going to keep it for a while, now its a great trailer, best i have had probably but the Anti reverse brake thingy doesnt work, unless it hasnt got it fitted, but i am sure it must have, this is the hitch as kits not the original Ifor one, should it have the Anti reverse fitted as its a pain to reverse, all i can think off is fitting a plate to stop the brakes working when i need to reverse, just lazy though and can be bothered to jump out to flip it over the ram

I think the anti reverse is built into the hubs on modern indispension units, not the hitch.

Thanks for the fast reply mate, i never thought of that, this is the OLD Ifor 3500kg trailer, the all steel type, not galvanised. The brakes need a refurb so i will see then then mate, cheers.

might just be me but that hitch looks a bit weedy to be 3500kg?

The shoes in the hubs are designed to slip back when reversing, and the using a spring they pop back into place when going forward, this gets over need to have a strap that stops the coupling from extending and contracting whilst manoeuvring

other point is maybe you have them adjusted wrong there needs to be some slack in the linkage from memory email Ivor Williams might be a pdf on that one

Its actually an Alco hitch, if that makes it a better hitch?

Still as the trailer is an Ifor, as said i can get all info and parts still.
