Brake Judder

ive got a BMW 520 Touring 63 plate. 45k on the clock and full main dealer history

This evening on my way home there was major judder when braking hard from 80mph. Tried again and same thing. There's nothing when normal breaking at normal speed. Nothing even when braking lightly from 80 mph.

Only had the car for 2 months. Planning to jack the car up this weekend and inspect. What should I be looking out for?

No wasn't that, no abs lights came on

Lots of people jump on warped brake discs with this issue. Could be that, but the older E39 BMW used to suffer dreadful judder when braking heavily as you describe then the thrust arm bushes needed replacing. I havent heard of the issue on later models, but worth a thought.

Hubs not cleaned when discs fitted, could be disc runout,

some cars don't show the abs light...well most of mine haven't unless there's a fault with the system, did you just feel it through the pedal?

No, the whole car was shaking

What does the steering wheel do? On my old 528, it was like it was trying to wrench Itself from my hands when the thrust arm bushes got really bad! (Wonderful car once that was fixed though!)

Steering and pedal are fine, just the car shakes

They do when you put the bulb back in.

Parm...read my post as workshopchris pointed to above..at last something is being done by BMW..can't help with your problem but - when they fix mine - it may give some clues.
