Hi all,

I have acquired one of these lifts but needs a service
I'm certain the loads blocks require replacement.
I have a couple of questions.
What is the recommended gap between the load block and safety block.
Mine looks to be set at 5mm,
the master post has the most wear in the load block. There is about 2mm of play up and down.
next question is whats the most effiecent way of replacing them as to me it looks like a total pig.

I've trawled the internet for info but there is very little out there.
I like all the old big name brand equipment, it's more robust and reliable

Any help would be most appreciated

Try a call to GEM co they should be able to point you in the right direction, but I doubt bits will be available?

I have an old Laycock 4 post and I had no issues getting parts from Tecelmit who are the people who own the remains of Laycock.

It's often good to buy the old iron but just be aware the spares for some 2 post lifts can be pretty expensive as they are often machine specific parts.
