As it currently utilises the travelling steady mounting holes I decided to move the dro scale from the front of the saddle to the rear.
As I had a piece of aluminium channel in the "stock rack" it was used as the magnetic tape mount. Couple of end pieces made up and then drilled for the mounting holes.
Cross-slide removed, drilled and tapped to mount it.
Saddle drilled and tapped for the reader head bracket.
Clearances worked out for the mount dimensions. Adjuster screws added as I couldn't be arsed to remover the saddle and mill the mounting surface!
Tape removed from the front of the table restuck into the new mounting and fitted.
I know you are all thinking what's that spare hole in the middle for!
A bump stop for the tailstock.
Off for beer and shade in the garden now.

I would think it's kind of like people with replica firearms, some only buy them only to handle them, clean them, and look at them; but that wouldn't apply to any of us.
