Bought AC/DC TIG called Stubbs Welding

Hi,

I just bought a welder off Ebay called Stubbs Welding.

Anyone heard of this kind of machine? Seller says HF is not working, is this an expensive thing to repair?

not necessarily, find the hf contacts have a look at them they may need setting with a feeler gauge , they may need replacing I managed to clean a set on my old transformer worked a treat afterwards

Exactly what I had to do to mine. The contacts were all fuzzed up killing the HF arc. I used a 8 thou (0.2mm) feeler gauge to set the gap and it worked right away. You'll probably find that it will work from single phase just fine too, but at half the weld current.
