Made a bottle cage for the father in laws birthday should keep him busy for a while when it all bolted down what do people think

Better yet, machine some special rods with a left handed section in the middle of a right handed thread.

No. Only weld the nuts on the non-corner ones and only the nuts at the bottom of the pile. Make sure he's spent all the time undoing all the other nuts before discovering that some are welded in place.
