^^^ Agree, bit of a strange fault /repair.
Any chance by changing the bulb the unit was moved a little and allowed a loose connection to reconnect, probably repaired my fair share of white goods over the years and never heard of that one.
Handy one to know though if it's correct.

Thats the way it seems to me. I left the door open to see if i could get the motor to run and it wouldn't. I replaced the bulb and the second i screwed the bulb in the motor started. Maybe coincidence ?
possibly thermostat , did mine on a hotpoint cost a measly few quid. You can chack the connection of the stat and jump it-- bypassing the stat- see if it fires up, I did this and just kept switching it on/off every few hours, without problem. was ok till a new stst was bought locally, cheaper than even E bay.
In fact I ve done this twice, did it on a previous fridge as well.

Were you in the fridge when you noticed that the light wasn't on because you have to have the door open for it to work!!!
