Wow that’s a good deal. I bought a couple of the 4ah ones for around that money when I had the Bosch gear. The 5’s were over £60 a piece I remember.Hi all, hope everyone has had a good Xmas - just a quick heads up that powetool world are doing Bosch 5ah batteries at £45 currently.
Seems a good price as they are usually £60 ish

You think so?Lithium Ion batteries are such a rip off. It is insane the way the charger is built into each battery. No wonder they cost so much!
You think so?
Personally I think - for the performance they give -LiOn batteries are great value. A real step up from nicad technology, which I don’t remember being much cheaper (officially at least, I know you could rebuild nicads up with individual cells but official Bosch/Makita etc batteries were never that cheap as I remember)
I just looked and it seems it’s gone up to £55, was at 45 this morning though...Hi Dale,
Have you got a link? I use Bosch blue stuff and could do with another battery.
Yeah sorry mate - I had the email yesterday I was otherwise engaged though!! I’ll try and be a bit quicker next time ha haAah, that's a shame.
Well I can get pretty much all day use out of my Bosch drill which is also lighter and much more powerful, my old dewalt was nowhere near that - that’s not a criticism of that particular drill - it was as good as I could get at the time. The so called charger that is supplied with battery drills is just a holder for the battery. All the charging circuits are in the battery. So every time you buy a new battery you have to buy another charger - nuts!

cells for 4.75 euros each - you need 4 or 5 of them.
I wonder how much of a step up they are from nicads? I have an old phillishave that is used daily. It is at least 18 years old - and holds charge for 3 or 4 weeks!
There must be a reason they do it that way, if it was possible/practical not have charge circuitry inside the battery they wouldn't put it in, charge the same price and make more profit.Lithium Ion batteries are such a rip off. Probably means they can use the same "charger" for all different AH batteries without having to worry about over or under charging. There must be a reason they do it that way, if it was possible/practical not have charge circuitry inside the battery they wouldn't put it in, charge the same price and make more profit.
