Bookmarks Manager

I used to use Firefox but StreetView kept crashing, so I switched to Chrome and now Ancestry.co.uk doesn't work properly.

It's a faff swapping bookmarks back & forth so I was wondering if there was a bookmark manager that could store bookmarks and just use the default browser to open them. That way I could use any browser by setting it to default.

A big plus would be that such a program would save bookmarks on Ctrl-D whichever browser I was using.

just import book marks to from firefox to chrome, funnunly i had trouble with firefox for two nights, downloaded and installed Chrome, imported bookmarks into Chrome and set up the toolbar ---yes you guessed Firefox is now ok on all the sites that were taking too long to load. So back with Fiorefox. Importing will bring any saved passwords accross as well.

Chrome --- To import existing bookmarks from Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari, follow these steps:

1. In the top-right corner of the browser window, click the Chrome menu .
2. Select Bookmarks > Import Bookmarks and Settings.
3. Select the programme that contains the bookmarks that you'd like to import.
4. Click Import.

Xmarks, Diigo, Delicious, Google Bookmarks, and Weave. Xmarks seems to come out with good reviews

I realise you can import bookmarks, but they end up in different formats, the FF bookmarks hold more info than the Chrome ones. I really want something that is basically an external database of bookmarks.

I can use a spreadsheet, but I'll have a look at those you mention, I did a search but didn't find any of those!

I've installed Xmarks - seems OK. I wasn't really looking to store bookmarks on a remote server, but I can see the pros & cons.
