Not sure if this is the place to post ....... if not I'll move it....

In the winds the other week a copper ridge tile fell off my bungalow roof onto my car. I though I'd got away with it but washing car yesterday I saw the tiny 'ding' on the roof It's metallic snapper rocks blue paint and the ding is about 1cm across but quite deep.

Is this something I could fix? I have a tiny little slide hammer which works with little plastic bits you hot glue on and use to pull small dints - but this has a sharp ding so not sure it would pull out?? Would I be better filling it and spraying with a rattle can or take it to someone professional?

try your local dent master......you'd be surprised what they can do without reaching for the paint gun and filler!

A rattle can job would look awful.
Is the paint broken/chipped?

As others have said, get an expert in, it'll cost you less than the value of your car will drop if you have a go and balls it up.
That glue tab thing will most likely pull more paint off.

My brother works in a car dealership and has been fully trained by one of the as a "dentmaster" schools (including a course in USA !).
Watching him work is an education. He normally needs access to the back of the panel, in your case I guess they will need to find a way to get between the headlining and the back of the dent.

For yours, get a professional. Also it looks like the paint at the bottom of the dent has been damaged so even the best "dentless removal" job will need some paintwork.

Slightly off-topic but years ago my brother bought an old BMW 518 that had been hand-painted white. When he came to sell it it had been snowing, he brushed the snow off the bonnet and a large patch of white paint came off with it.
He promptly chucked some snow back on it to hide it, the bloke never noticed it, paid for the car the car and drove it away.

I had a porsche something or other in a while back from a dealer, the local dent guy had removed lots of hail damage dents from the roof but in the process had completely messed up the headliner.Wasn't an easy job making and fitting a new headliner to a car with a roll cage in it.

Just had first quote from local dent remover ... tap it out, filler, paint whole roof ..... wait for it ..... £400.00 .... is that a good price???

Just got ours back something similar but a few dings after the first wind storms. Don't know the price when we mentioned an insurance excess payment he said that'll not even come close to covering the paint never mind labour, rub down etc. so let the insurance deal with it. Think they were into 4 figures though.
Apparent they rub down then weld pins to the metal jack dent out then pins come off with a twist and no marks.

That looks like its going to have stretched the metal, cant see how that would come out without getting behind it, I would touch it up to stop it rusting and leave it personally but then my choice of my daily transport is 20+ years old!

Presumably they‘ll blend to the original paint the repaired area then clear coat the whole roof.
I’d rather pay £400 and get a top quality job than £250 and have it not look right or have the clear coat start to peel at the edges after a year because it hadn‘t been prepped properly

Cheap I would say, quoted more than that for a bonnet repair
