I'm going to fit a new diverter valve to my baxi 105e (again). I've asked before on here and the consensus was that a magnetic trap may prolong the life of the diverter valve.
So whilst I have the system drained for the diverter I might as well fit the filter.
The problem is that the boiler is upstairs in a landing cupboard about 8" from the floor...pipes straight down into the floor...
So very little room to fit the filter between the boiler and floor on the return (which I've read is best place).
There is an ideal position under the stairs where the flow and return run to the downstairs radiators. There's only three rads upstairs and seven downstairs.
So if I put the filter in the under stairs cupboard it will only filtering the return from the downstairs rads and not the upstairs.
I suppose any particles will find there way to the trap eventually but it's not ideal.
Any thoughts from the experts?
