Hi

I have done some odd patches on cars before in places where i can see the weld penetrate from behind the work.

However i havent done anything structual or on bits where the back of the weld cant be seen. How do i know my weld is strong enough in these cases?

If you don't know how good your welding is, it's not good enough yet, is the simple answer in my opinion. You need to do a lot of test welds, put them in a vice and bray on them with a big hammer if they all hold then you know your good, if not more practice until they do.

Welcome aboard Is this work to be on your own vehicle or someone else's? [not that that's vital to know, structural is structural....]

A pic or two of your welds and the areas of bodywork/structural affected would be helpful too.
