Body filler

Im aware normal car body filler is porous and attracts moisture and hadnt really given the matter much thought until i came across some body filler on a restoration supplies website the other day which is made from aluminium powder rather than talc and they claim its impervious to water, is this aluminium powder based bodyfiller any good? are there any downsides of using it?

Personally I don't know anybody using it, most of us use Upol Fantastic, a better filler I don't think you will find.

yeah same here , never used it but heard storys off it not feathering out and what not

stick with something known to work to well...1000s of shops using upol all day long

If you epoxy prime before doing the filler work and then cover it when done you won't have a problem.

I've used Is#p#n 'Metal' aluminium-loaded filler, it's a lot more expensive than their ordinary stuff, but it gave me a decent finish on small dings.

Would work out very expensive in the long run.Fantastic is fantastic!
