BOC bargains

Called into the BOC depot to change my Argoshield light bottle, Would you believe it, they don't keep them in stock and is getting one in for tomorrow for me, Had a little rumage through the "new old stock" items and scored a full sealed pack of 2.5Kg silicon bronze rods for £5-00 and pack of 10 gold tungstens for the same price, Never ever used gold, what are they like?

They are the "jack of all trades" tungsten. Work on both AC or DC.
If youve been using zirconiated on AC they wont be as good

Similar to blue, but ever so slightly worse.

This wasn't Worsley was it? They didn't have As lite in stock last week, so I got Universal instead. He did say I could swap it if I didn't get on with it, but it's a trek to take it back. I am finding it a bit splattery so far.

Marlinspike, Are you on the volks/hobby deal? I was at the Stockton gas and gear depot. They had plenty of Y size universal but don't think they would let me have one as its not in the deal. Before the volks deal i used universal all the time for all thicknesses and never had a problem.
