Hi, I am a new member of this forum but have been dropping in occassionaly for a while. I have found it very helpful and informative. I have a BOC ADR300 which my father bought S/H in early seventies. He was very good with electronics and serviced this on the rare occassions that it required attention. It was our main piece of welding equipment and many of my colleagues learnt how to tig weld all types of materials with it. It has been a fantastic machine. However it has been stored for many years and I have just opened it up with a view to giving it a refurb. Unfortunately the Rheostat ceramic ring has dropped from the mounting plate. It appears to be sound with no breaks in the windings. I am assuming that this happened as a result of being moved around but would welcome advice on possible causes for this. I am aware that these are hard to find and therefore I would be very grateful for any advice on how this could be repaired. Is it possible to remount this with some type of high temperature adhesive? Any help gratefully recieved. I will need to check all systems through once I print off all the excellent information that has already been posted here by people like NotANormalCoder. I will keep you up to date with progress. Thanks.
