BMW 120d Brakes?

Hi all, I run older cars without lots of 'tronic bits and the last BMW was a 2002! So, a mate askes me to change the front discs and pads on his 2005 120d. Local agent wants €600+. Parts from OM on the web are about €120 (or less)
But, would it require any 'chat' with the computor? No lights showing, but the service guy thought it a good idea on the condition of the disks. Milage is a bit over 100K km. Lots of short trips to the shops.
Friend is taking a driving holiday around France next month and is now concerned.

It should be a simple job, shouldn't need any computer trickery on the front.

Computers only usually get involved with electric hand brakes.

I'd be very surprised if it's not the usual case of push the pistons back in, new parts and get going again. Even when there's a light on for the wear it's just a wire that grounds when the pad gets close to the disk.

I'm not clued up on BMW's of that era but from older and newer other stuff that's what I've found, so as I say I'd be very surprised if it's different.

Is there not a mileage counter that works out the disks without checking them.
That will probably need a reset but it's mechanical parts one they is done they is done

My dad had a 1 series, nice enough to drive, but some horrendously complex elcectronics for me -even changing a battery was a dealer job and hours on their computer!
