Bluetooth audio interface

Ive dug my Technics stack system out of the attic and given it a lick of polish. Was thinking of selling it but after connecting it up and listening to it its getting put back into use (with the exception of the cassette deck which had hardly been used and brought £200 on ebay ).

Im going to put it on a big shelf in the outdoor build, it’ll get more use out there either when on the treadmill or in the garden, but obviously the way music is accessed now has changed, I tend to use spotify or radioplayer apps.

I was wondering as I know some of you are into hifi etc, if there is such a thing as a standalone (mains powered) bluetooth interface with an audio output to feed into the amplifier, a bonus would be if it also had a dab receiver, as there isnt a lot on fm that I listen to.

Not sure about the DAB but plenty of Bluetooth audio adapters and you don’t need to spend much either.

Search for Bluetooth audio receiver on Amazon or eBay. There are plenty on there with L & R phono outputs.

There are plenty of options but they primarily tend to be dab tuners with bluetooth etc added on.
Makes sense I suppose as you need a display for dab..

Cheap Bluetooth adapters are under a tenner and sold in supermarkets.
Then just tune into the dab station on your phone.

Sold my Yamaha amp/tuner for more than I paid for it by a fair amount to a guy in Australia
The Nakamichi tape deck fetched good money as well
Quality 70/80s audio kit seems to be in demand

They seem to be back in vogue if they are the right units. You need to offer postage though and pack them well

As a hoarder I still have all the original boxes in the loft which should help protect them in the post

I plug the Amazon Alexa in to my Yamaha E300 with a stereo 3.5mm jack to twin phonos.
I can then listen to pretty much anything.
I get the modern interface with nice quality sound.

We have a small Yamaha MusicCast unit which is ace but had some issues with the new router BT made us upgrade to and it took a lot of fiddling to get it to work again. It’s plugged into the aux in of the same model amp you have.

I guess if your streaming via Bluetooth nothing stops you from having internet radio with all the same stations as DAB

But beware not all smart speakers have a line out. If you can get yourself an Amazon Echo Dot 4th gen (used to retail for £25) then that has a 3.5mm line out. If you're already subscribed to amazon prime then you'll have access to plenty of music and internet radio stations. Plus I think it also acts as a blue tooth speaker

Yep, you can play any source that runs off a tablet

Went for the logitech option. Pretty impressed
