Blue Mig Liner Question.

Just took my liner out, to have a look, as i tried to run 0.6 wire with bad results, having allways run 0.8/1.0 (the wire is new) the liner is blue, so does that mean to say it is correct? It has a 1.6 id ie i can slide a 1.6 tungston up it. also the liner looks to be good. Thanks Ian

Did you change the rollers over for 0.6 and readjust the feed tension, the liner should be fine

Running 0.6mm wire on a 1.6mm liner will cause the wire to make a long spring as it goes down the liner. The slight drag at the tip will cause this "spring" to stutter.

I have 0.6, 0.9 and 1.3mm liners. My torch came with a 1.3mm. Was near useless on 0.6mm as it is a 4m torch. 1.6 is huge.

Thanks, mine is 4m as well , thats my problem then, will get a smaller liner, might get another torch as well for quick change. Ian.

Sorry...I read your post quick and thought you said 0.6 liner, Shenion is correct of course, 1.6 allows room for the wire to coil or bunch up...a bit like trying to push it the through the full length of a hosepipe.
