Blue Brand Mig 150

Hi all,

im just looking at getting my own mig for a few jobs ive got coming up mostly relatively thin wall automotive and frame work but may need a bit of 'grunt' for thick brackets etc but nothing over about 5mm.

Anyway after a good look around i like the look of the portamig units from weldequip but i just cant justify the initial outlay despite the fact im sure they are far superior units.

and wondered if anyone has any experince of the brand or the set itself.

My main concern is the wire feed system as that is the main problem ive had on my dads Clarke unit. It just doesn't seem to give a very consistent feed rate.

I bought one of these but sent it back the same day after wire feed trouble, it was birdsnesting in the tube so unfortunatly I wouldnt reccomend it, It would be ok for the very occasional user but you get what you pay for at the end of the day. I think you well be much happier if you save up a bit more for something better, ill be an expensive lump of scrap to be left with when the guarentee runs out.

i had a sealey supermig 150 which was not bad but when the torch internals failed i sent for a new one but when i stripped the machine the fan had also failed , the cost to repair it was about £100.0 on the cheap non sealey parts and almost£170.0 with sealey parts .so i sent the other stuff back for a credit and bought the blue mig 150 out of the box you could see that the quality was much better and as soon as i used it the perfomance was superb cant recomend it enough it has had a lot of long days use and as for the wire feed take a look at the tiny motor in the sealey, my blue mig works great and the people at welders warehouse could not be better.
