I still have them both and they still work

Buy good gear and it lasts

You can pick up Rothenbergers on Ebay for £40, pair that with a MAPP gas cylinder and you're well away!

Another vote for Rothenberger, I have a couple most common use for one of them is lighting the wood burner. I reckon it's cheaper/easier than firelighters(if you already have the torch), newpaper and bit of kindling then blast it.

im same as kayos but i dont know how old he is to me, newest one i have is this Rothenberger super fire 2 but i think its poor not like my other one that i have both wrap around the pipes but ive been doing plumbing since 13

I picked a really good one up that i still use to this day whilst everyone was using the early rothenberger

i even have the old standered blowtorch and the gas bottle base for cooking upon

I use a Rothenberger super fire 2, we had a job in the workshop and I knew my gas was running low so I sent the boss out for some more, he couldnt find the right bottle for my torch and came back with some rubbish from home Bargains, after an hour trying to get the bearing off I luckily found half a bottle in my van for the Rothenberger, had the bearing off in a few minutes. Some of the cheap stuff doesn't burn anywhere near as hot and you cant use them upside down.
