They are some hardworking birds
These pair have a nest in the neighbours garden , in previous years inmine
Every five or. Ten mins either mum or dad arrive with new caterpillars or other delicacies for the young , they perch on the fence about 4' from you quite happily
It's certainly no 9-5 job for them . They don't seem to stop pretty much dawn to dusk , such amazing creatures and so nice too see

We have a pair of blackbirds in our garden. The cock bird sings all day long.I'm sure he flllows us round the house, if your on the kitchen he's on the telegraph pole at the back of the house. Go into the sitting room and he's round the front seconds after you sit down

They are always (or at least seem to be) the first up and last to bed!

We used to have one in our garden that used to incorporate a noise identical to next doors phone ring in his song

This giant wood pigeon was on our fence, the wife and I looked at it for a while aghast at its size.

Turned out to be 2 pigeons having a cuddle.

We got some Dunnocks last year nesting in the Clematis on the wall and they would hop across the lawn under your chair while you sat reading, not seen them this year though.

We had to replace an old asbestos garage roof with an insulated metal roof recently, the plan was to remove the asbestos roof one weekend and fit a new roof the next.
The problem was when we got there there was a black bird sat on a nest inside the garage just below the roof. She put up with us for a while then left with 4 eggs in the nest we removed the asbestos but could not leave the nest exposed so we fitted the new roof temporarily to give the nest some cover. The next day when I looked in the garage she was back
The following weekend we bolted down the roof and there were 4 young in the nest so we didn't do the verges to leave her access.
A couple of weeks later they had all flown so we removed the empty nest but were surprised that within a few days she had built another nest in the same place! luckily it was empty so we shifted it and finished off the verges.

We were in Wales over the weekend and my little dog Ralph nearly got carried off by a red kite.

Took it off him in the end and got him a football.

Swallow, swifts, house Martins are especially amazing.
Building skills and even one of modifications. One of our many nests has a skid rail on one nest a big length or Reed I saw a bird bring in and fasten in place. On the other side one has a wind flag !

Did you know that the first brood helps raise a second brood by feeding its siblings while fattening up itself and allowing its parents to do likewise? Then they go on a little holiday to Africa before returning to our isolated home on the moors of Bowland in Lancashire . Now that's chuffing amazing!

Our sky here is like the battle of Britain and I can see clearly how the spitfire was modeled

We get loads of blackbirds and thrushes...I like them....their singing and their warning calls are a pleasure....my only problem is I can sometimes get too close to a nest and they will attack....a thrush hit me on the head and drew blood....but I still like them and their nests are a work of art......they nest in my hedge which is large but also in the ivy thats round my door and in a shrub in front of my shed....very close to human contact.

Sadly, we have Magpies nesting in a hawthorn and they tend to frighten all the other smaller birds away, poxy things.

In previous years, I've seen Magpies killing young Starlings on neighbouring roofs. I've also "discouraged" them from nesting in our hawthorns with a .22 air rifle, but that's too risky these days.

Sadly, we have Magpies nesting in a hawthorn and they tend to frighten all the other smaller birds away, poxy things.

In previous years, I've seen Magpies killing young Starlings on neighbouring roofs. I've also "discouraged" them from nesting in our hawthorns with a .22 air rifle, but that's too risky these days.

there were 10 magpies last year hanging around I don't know what happened this year maybe the bad winter killed them off oh well at least the blackies nested in my scrap heap again and 2 sets of robins in me garage

We have a friendly robin but the magpie and pigeons scare off everything else. Horrible birds. Used to see loads of sparrows as a child but they are a rare site in my suburban garden.

We have a nesting pair of Blackbirds. Plus at least 1 generation of their offspring who feed in the garden. The family arguments make Eastenders look tame.

I have a friendly Robin who has gathered nesting materials from "Cat"

Plus a clever Crow who has worked out loose food can be found in Playpen. But is brazen. Last night I cough him tugging at the loose strands on the rub by the back door. He looked at me, did the bird equivalent of a shoulder shrug and hoped away.

Sparrows by the dozen. Plus tits and greenfinches.

Plus noticed a few times a Thrush.

No rats.
A few years ago when a stupid neighbour with spoilt kids kept buckets of rabbit food. It was the same time 2 old mills were being converted into flats.
They had a visit from the council pest control officer and ended up with a big fine.

Plus the number of cats round here they end up as dinner.
