I think they are like sheet metal.. been painted over millions of times though.. they are sort of white at the moment and it don't seem to be peeling so should be good to go straight over?
Bitumous paint?
JTF had some at about 8 quid a gallon.
takes a while to dry, especially on steel (and can still get sticky in VERY hot weather),
a good coating of dust helps.
Yeah we have used bitumin paint before which is an option.. but it's difficult to paint over and we might want to draw stuff on it afterwards.. someone has suggested black oxide paint? Never heard of it before.. any opinions?
Hi just spoken to my mate who is a painter he suggests just black masonry paint but good quality, it ends up cheaper coz, good stuff will cover in 1or2 coats whereas cheap s**t will take loads of coats to cover the white
Er its not masonry hes painting, then again depends what your going over weather its peeling or not if it rejects the top coat your snookered, best black masonry paint i reccomend would be truguard @£35 a tin
yes I know and told my mate that fact, he still said masonary paint IF they had been painted before coz it will stand the weather and normally is non reactive to other paint
