These are quite priceless! I can add to them a very stupid moment. I was forging some 30mm tube, a section about 90 cm long. The phone rang, and the dog came into the workshop at the same time, in my rush to get the phone, I thought, the dog is around I better not leave anything hot on the floor as she might burn her paws, so I promptly stuck the hot end of the tube into the slack tub to quench it. I had the end of the tube pointing directly at my forehead- don't know if anyone has quenched tube before, but it's quite hilarious in that it erupts a jet of water through the tube and it's like an instant pressure washer. So basically the water very forcefully squirted at my forehead for a split second. I know better than to quench tube, but in my rush to avoid burning my dog's paws, I just forgot and subsequently ended up with a facefull of manky, disgusting, rusty slack tub water, well, only the dog actually saw what happened and I'm sure I saw her chuckle. D'oh!!
