Hello folks,
Im going to make up some sections of exhaust tube for my car....
Its 60mm steel tube with 2mm wall and i need to put a 15degree bend in each tube... thats all, no great curves or fancy curls.
My problem is this -
I cant get the tube bent without some deformation, nobody near me has the capability for bending thin wall tube.
So, i was thinking of slitting the tube and easing a bend into it, then welding up the joins.
Im a very accomplished mig welder, and was wondering if mig would be ok or do i need to go more exotic with a tig?
Im more worried about stress points and cracks forming in the welds eventually.... bending is the way to go but i just done have the facilities locally.
Whats your opinion? Should i practice more on the tig or will mig be ok?
