No, behave.
Been following the progress of a pair of Thrushes the last couple of weeks and I think they will be ready to leave the nest next week. They decided to nest on the top of one of the columns on my stalled (no materials) Conservatory rebuild. We have been watching them from an upstairs window. Picture shot using my camera phone through one half of my bino's:



that was last week, this was today, so in seven days they have really come on:

So, as if there was not enough excitement at the back of the house, this was at the font this afternoon. Dad, Dad, DAD IT'S IN THE GARDEN:



The Westie was beside himself. If I had opened the door he would have gone Trans-Continental. The Black Lump just wanted to know if it would play.

In the world of pheasants being very stupid is to be quite possibly in the top 5% of intelligence for a pheasant

Most of them are way more stupid than that

Ah, it knows. I would never shoot a pheasant, not in the garden or anywhere else. £50 to the person who gets a pic of a magpie or Crow in my garden. It has to be there and remain there for more than a minute though. It's why the nest is safe, airgun on the window ledge.

its a happy time for phesants. no one out shooting them im a bit cheesed off. last 5 years had the robins nesting in me garage and blackies in me scrap cable pile and even in me mobile compressor sat on the pump nothing this year

Nature is such a powerful force , through all of these times the plants and animals round us just keep on as usual , we have new found time to look and appreciate things , I hope the appreciation of many a new found enjoyment does not diminish as we all slowly get back to the new normality , when ever or what ever it may turn out to be.

Rumour has it, witnessed from my neighbour and her indoors that a rather large rat was seen chasing big birds off the food tables,OH saw it have a go at a crow,again,yet to see this

I hate magpies and crows. They don't even like each other.

Next door had a rat in his dry stone wall and it was feeding alongside the pigeons on the floor under the feeders. He gave me permission to shoot it over the wall and on Thursday I was watching and it popped out for a snack and I shot it. Surprised me as the rifle I'm using is an old BSA Cadet .177 which was my dad's, I'm 67 so I reckon the rifle is about 70 years old and not been used for over 30 years.
